All in a days work

This morning started off like any other. Walk the dogs, feed the dogs, feed the cats, clean the cats litter box, pick up after the dogs, fix the coffee, wake Steve up, fix Steve's breakfast, fix his coffee, see him out the door... start my day. I began with replacing the trim around the windows in the French Door that so many dogs have chewed on over the years. The phone rings... I take a break. Thump Thump Thump... what the hell is THAT. I look under the table and Nemo is full on in the middle of a seizure. I hold him down and gently talk to him as it subsides and his breathing returns to normal. I get up wash off the urine and the poop put the blanket in the wash and notify the rescue of his seizure. Nemo is Epileptic. It said so on his records. He hadn't had a seizure since Jan, so we thought maybe he was gonna be ok. Not so. Three seizures later, the rescue picked him up and he's now on his way to the hospital. Poor Nemo, such a sweet fella. He shouldn't have to suffer all this. A recent surgery removed several tumors form his chest and now this... just not fair. I'm keeping him in my thoughts. They'll probably put him on phenobarbital, which will just make him sleepy and less active than he already isn't. He must be the most relaxed dog I know and now he's gonna be even more laid back. Back to those chores I started earlier... like loads of laundry and watching Emma. No more dog drama today would be nice.
